BAND BIO

JET PILOT JERRY came about in 2011. Guitarist/Vocalist Rodney Smith and Bassist Adam Vogt had previously played together in a classic rock cover band in Venice, California for a while, but that project fell short. From the ashes, Rodney and Adam decided to put together an rock-n-roll band and write and perform original music. Over several months they wrote over ten songs and decided to recruit a drummer. Through months of searching they came across LA native Jeff Kazanjian, who had playing experience with some bands in the Glendale area. At their first meeting and playing together it was obvious that Jeff was their guy. The band originally was going to remain a three piece, but Rodney's friend Kevin West had just relocated to Los Angeles from Charleston, SC. West, an accomplished musician in his own right with 3 solo albums, on a whim sat in with the band and that day the sound of Jet Pilot Jerry was formed. The stars aligned and from that day forward JPJ started slowly establishing itself as a fiery rock band gigging all over LA!

JPJ started putting out a self-title 5 song demo CD in 2012 as well as the EP "Flightplan" in 2014.  With a debut single & video for the track "Driveway", the band showed they can rock.  While the songs earned praise for their musical prowless, the band could never find a vocal direction to go in.  This changed in late 2014 when JPJ picked up vocalist Bri Sarikcougli.  Her powerful vocals leading the charge has given this band new life and another dynamic to the band.  This new sound can be heard in the new single "Thinking Of You"  Sadly, in 2014 Adam decided to leave the band to pursue other projects as well as Jeff who moved away in 2015.  JPJ has picked up a new rhythm section with new drummer Dustin Prince and bassist Zack Pyke.

JPJ has returned to the LA scene in 2016 with their new EP and upcoming shows.  Catch us this year!
